Founded 1870: 'The Society aims to support and raise the profile of the region’s archaeological heritage, providing a monthly lecture series, annual transactions and many other benefits to members ... Since the outset, the Society has been affiliated to the Birmingham and Midland Institute. It later became the Birmingham Archaeological Society but with the publication of its centenary volume No. 84 (1967-70) it became known as the Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society (BWAS)'.

'If you're at all interested in astronomy we are the society is for you! Our members range from people with a casual interest in astronomy to serious amateurs and even professionals. You don't need any specialist knowledge to join, nor do you need to own a telescope etc. You can also be sure of a friendly welcome. We normally meet on the second Friday of the month but tend to avoid bank holidays etc.'

Member of the Amphibian and Reptile Groups of the UK Grouping

'Warwickshire has eight Branch Associations, each with a programme of activities throughout the year. Honey bees are only active during the spring and summer, so the summer programme focuses on the apiary and the practical aspects of managing honey bees through the season. During the winter months each Branch arranges a programme of talks and demonstrations.'

'Formed in 1989 with the aim of promoting the study, recording and preservation of the industrial archaeology of Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. The Society is affiliated to the Association for Industrial Archaeology. The main activity of the Society is the regular monthly meeting, with talks by visiting speakers, although additional visits to sites within Warwickshire and beyond are arranged on an occasional basis.'

'The Society exists to promote the advancement of public education in local history in Warwickshire ... Membership of the Society is open to any person, society, organization, library, or corporate body interested in promoting its objects ... Lectures are at 7:30pm on the third Tuesday of the month, apart from our annual Saturday afternoon meeting in January, which is at 2pm.'
