'Shropshire Beekeeper’s Association is here to help you learn and develop the theory and practical skills to become a beekeeper, to set up your first hive, to develop your own apiary and look after your colonies of honey bees. It involves a significant investment of time and money, especially when you start out. Bees need looking after if they are to be healthy, content and productive.'

'Founded in 1979 to provide a meeting place in Shropshire for all those interested in Family History. The Society is now a Registered Charity ... with around 1200 members from all round the world ... Membership is open to anyone interested in family history and non‑members are welcome to visit one of our meetings, to become familiar with our activities ... Many of the meetings include a specialist speaker invited to talk to the members. Following the speaker the remainder of the evening allows the members to talk to each other informally and at the same time members of the Committee are available to help with any problems.'

'Meetings, lectures, discussions, projects, fieldtrips for all with an interest in the subject, including amateur and professional geologists.'

Formed 1955: 'Meetings are normally held January-March and October-December ... The meetings are informal, informative and interesting. Why not come along, especially if you have not been before? You will learn more about birds and nature in general and be able to chat to others with similar interests ... The Society covers the County for national surveys and makes past records available for current research. It is actively involved in the partnership between the British Trust for Ornithology and county bird clubs.'

'A group of sociable people with a common interest in photography. New members, regardless of experience and camera owned (if any!), are always very welcome. With a wide span of skills, talent and experience between us, our members are happy to discuss and explain photography in all its forms. And, although we concentrate our efforts on colour and monochrome digital images and prints, we embrace a wide variety of photographic styles such as portraits, natural history, record, landscape, close ups and so on.'
