A-Z LECTURES and CATEGORIES

'We have been in existence since about 1866, which makes us one of the oldest societies in the country ... One of our main attractions is our monthly Social evenings (and 2 very popular quiz nights). Guest speakers present garden related topics and everyone is welcome to these social evenings. They run from September to May.'

'Objectives are to encourage interest in the recent and distant past history of the area, particularly the landscape, buildings and, of course, the people ... The main activities are a series of illustrated winter lectures, on topics of historical interest, held usually on the last Monday of each month.'

'Kings Langley Local History and Museum Society is committed to establishing a museum in the district. This is to display its collection of artefacts and also the significant Ovaltine archive, in an attractive manner accessible to the public. The Society is in the process of raising funds to achieve this. The Society would be pleased to hear of any local premises which may be available and suitable for a museum. A group of archivists meet in the village library on Wednesday mornings between 10.00 and 12.30 to research and index local heritage documents as well as receive enquiries on family and local history from individuals and from this Website from around the world.'
