A wide range of events is organised for members during the year including a series of evening lectures in the winter months, plants sales, excursions, garden walks and workshops.'

'In 1824 four men called a public meeting to form a Horticultural Society of Aberdeen and some 40 years later its work was recognised when it was given the right to use the word “Royal” in its title. Throughout its years it has remained a voluntary organisation whose aim has been to “advance knowledge and encourage the practice of horticulture in the community”. It does this by: Providing lectures and demonstrations; Organising and staging two flower shows per year; Organising monthly workshops on a variety of subjects for the newer gardener ...
