Local Society: Wilmslow

'Local groups usually meet once a month, slowing down in the alpine off-season at the height of summer. So if you’re a gardener of a different stripe, alpines are a fun way to extend your gardening season! Group meetings often involve a talk from a plant expert, a raffle and a plant sale. Groups also arrange trips out to gardens and places of interest throughout the year.'

'We are a group with an interest in science who meet once a month for an informal discussion – with a drink – about a scientific or technical topic, led by an invited expert. Knutsford SciBar meetings are held on the second Monday of each month ... Usually there is no meeting in August. Time: 7.30pm – arrive early to get a drink and a good seat.'

'The Art Appreciation Society is a group that organises lectures on all aspects of art history, exploring and analysing art forms throughout history.'

'Do you enjoy the countryside? Do you wish that you knew a little bit more about plants, insects, animals, and fungi? Why not join other enthusiasts as a member of the Wilmslow Guild's Natural History Society? During the winter expert speakers deliver illustrated talks on a range of natural history topics and, during the summer there is a programme of field trips.'
