Local Society: Torquay

'The Theosophical Society is a worldwide organisation founded in 1875. Its primary aim is universal brotherhood without distinction of race, creed, colour, gender or social background. It is based on the realisation that life in all its diverse forms, human and non-human, is indivisibly One ... Toward this end the Headquarters and its National Sections sponsor public lectures, seminars, events and study groups on theosophical and allied themes.'

'We are a group of people of all ages and from all walks of life bound together by a common interest in astronomy. Whether you are an experienced astronomer or a newcomer and just curious to find out a little more about the cosmos, we pride ourselves on offering a convivial setting to meet and learn ... The TAS generally holds two meetings per month through the astronomical "season" from September to April. One meeting per month is primarily an "observational" event. The other monthly meeting is a "lecture" event ... We welcome non-members at all of our meetings. Non-members are asked to pay a small visitor's fee.'
