'In 1966 a group of enthusiasts; medal collectors, weapon collectors and miltary history enthusiasts met regularly in the Navigation Inn on Lancashire Hill in Stockport and The Stockport and District Arms Collectors’ Society was formed. The club has flourished from then on and we still have members from these early beginnings. In 1996 the club’s title was changed to Stockport Militaria Collectors’ Society.
