Local Society: Basingstoke

'Hampshire Beekeepers’ Association dates back to 1882. It unites 15 Local Associations within the County by organising Conventions and Honey Shows as well as promoting training through the Region ... All Associations are happy for non-members to attend a meeting occasionally but please check with the Secretary, or a member of the committee, that it is convenient for you to attend.'

'Promoting and encouraging the study of family history research since our formation in 1974. Our aim is to help you trace your family’s Hampshire roots ... We meet regularly to discuss the opportunity to share, learn, exchange ideas and information, as well as to help us each further explore our family history projects ... Across the County we have 13 groups that meet monthly offering lectures, visits and discussions.'

'A Club for anyone who grows orchids, whether on a windowsill or professionally, providing a place for members to meet socially, to show their orchids, acquire new ones, and to learn about them with lectures, a journal, a library, exhibiting at shows and cultural advice. Our membership is national and international, with individual members and Affiliated Societies.'

'Founded in 1979 by a group of quilting enthusiasts and has grown from a founding membership of 300 to over 6,500 individual members today ... Each of our regions provide a programme of talks and events and every year at least two or three regions organise exhibitions and retreats. The five special interest groups cater for special interests with challenges, meetings, retreats and summer schools.'
