Local Society: Barnsley

'Meets September to April each Monday ... Our YPU-affiliated society delivers an active programme of hands on photography and competitions where new photographers can gain experience on all things photographic. Regular workshop topics include exploring techniques such as long exposure, filters, setting up basic lighting, using Adobe Photoshop to edit and enhance your photography, and many others. During the summer, the club arranges photo shoots in and around the local area.'

'The Society was formed in 1938 with the object of furthering interest in cultivation of the fuchsia.'

'Groups which meet and converse in the UK and beyond, usually gathering once every month. The event was founded in London, UK by Dr Scott Campbell in 1999, for all those interested in science, history, psychology, philosophy, investigative journalism and how to examine extraordinary claims of all types. A speaker (or number of speakers) is invited each month to present a topic of interest, which is followed by a discussion in a relaxed and friendly pub atmosphere.'

'Objectives of the YBKA are as follows: * To promote and improve the craft of beekeeping; * To provide education, training and support for its Members; * To inform the wider public about the important role that the honeybee (Apis mellifera) plays in our natural environment and to promote the protection of that environment ... Members are organised into Affiliated District Associations (Districts) that are either locally based or dedicated to beekeeping related special interests.'
