Fortnightly evening meetings, 19.15, October - May.
'Meet at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of every month Sept-May.'
'In August, September, October, November, January, February, March and April we meet on the last Tuesday of the month ... at 19.30. In December we have a social event for members only and in June and July we have outdoor meetings.'
'Society Social Meetings are intended for both members and non-members to share a topic of general interest to either the canal, society or surrounding community. The evenings are both enjoyable and informative; with a short presentation on the topic together with an opportunity to get a brief update on D&SC society activities, events and the latest canal developments.'
'We currently number over 50 members from all walks of life and whose knowledge of astronomy ranges from complete beginner to advanced. The society holds regular meetings on the first Friday of each month (except July and August) at 7:30 pm ... Meetings usually involve an outside speaker, but members also give talks and the society holds a quiz in February. We also hold 'Introduction to Astronomy' evenings ... on the third Friday of the month. See below for more information. We are a friendly and, despite our subject, "down to earth" society. Meetings are a great way for potential new members to see what we're about in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.'
'We present and produce an excellent and diverse programme of performances, events and festivals. We are innovative, inclusive, sustainable and vital to the regeneration of Derby.'
Organize a range of talks and related events at their various venues. Usually free of charge, but check details.
Winter indoor meetings, Friday evenings.
'We are a friendly group of photographers of all ages and aim to offer something for everyone. So, whether you’re a complete novice or have loads of experience in all things photographic, you will be made very welcome. Our winter programmes include talks from a wide range of guest speakers, along with competitions and practical evenings where members can try out new techniques.'
Weekly lectures, Friday evenings.
Meet 'on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm ... The Society holds special events, in addition to its normal meetings, each year. Past events have been held at Glossop, Shirland, Ashover, Ashbourne and South Normanton, in addition to those at the Society HQ at Bridge Chapel House’.
Programme of evening meetings.
Meet 'second Saturday of each month at 1.30 pm for 2 pm'.
Occasional lectures. Enquire about attendance.
'The Annual Lecture series are prestigious events which attract delegates from across the United Kingdom and further afield. Following each Annual Lecture, the International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) publishes lecture notes in the form of an Occasional Paper, which is widely disseminated locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. This provides an excellent opportunity to stimulate new thinking and to generate ideas on contemporary topics that are likely to impact on individuals’ lives and the business goals of UK plc.'
Occasional Lecture-Lunches and related events.
'The Centre is a shared space where people are invited to speak freely and fearlessly, in the spirit of Listen to others as you want them to listen to you.'
'The main functions of the Derby Branch are to support the Peak Railway Association by raising funds, volunteering to support the Peak Rail operations and helping to publicising the Railway. We have a keen but small Committee so would welcome an approach from anybody with a small amount of time to spare to help us fulfill our objectives and possibly expand our activities.'
'Membership entitles you to nine illustrated lectures a year (usually on the first Tuesday of the month, January to June, October to December) at 7.15 pm.'
