Category Arts and Crafts

'Founded in 1955 with the aim of helping bring together the community of craft Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. Rather than set up another organisation for individual craft people we chose the path of becoming an Association of Guilds - an umbrella body to which regional or local Guilds are affiliated. The aim is to support those regional Guilds by operating at a larger scale with National Conferences, National Exhibitions, Competitions, publications and recognised qualifications certifying individuals' high level of achievement and competence in their chosen craft. We now have over 100 member Guilds representing over 5000 crafts-people.'

'Supports local bat groups across the UK and over 6000 members. We work with volunteers, scientists, industry and government both locally and nationally on a range of projects ... Whether you are a bat-beginner or an expert you are sure to find an event to interest you ... Year round the Bat Conservation Trust, local bat groups as well as conservation and community organisations arrange bat events across the UK from training courses to bat walks for families.'

Category Rail Transport

'Exists to support the oldest independent railway in the world (being founded by an Act of Parliament in 1832) – now a historic and world-class tourist attraction ... The Area Groups of the FR Society have performed vital roles for the railway since the earliest days of preservation. They coordinate transport to the railway, organise volunteer working parties, promote the FR in their region and raise vital funds. Many of them also organise meetings for local members and FR supporters to get their "Ffestiniog fix" when not able to get to North Wales.'

'The Society was founded in 1980 to bring together the many people interested in Family History. It caters for those with Gwynedd ancestry and we would be happy to help anyone in need of assistance with their research.'

'Nature is not only beautiful but it is also fundamental to our lives. We can’t survive without it, but Wales’s natural environment is in decline and so are the benefits that it delivers. The LNP Cymru project will build a nature recovery network to help reverse this, engaging people and communities, businesses and decision-makers in both practical action and strategic planning for a healthy, resilient and nature-rich Wales.'

'We are an established Society founded in 1939 and are interested in all aspects of the history of the former County of Merioneth which dates from 1284 and became part of Gwynedd under the 1974 Welsh counties reorganisation. Our interests include archaeology, buildings, family history, folklore, literature and all the various subjects which are generally called "antiquities" ... We arrange field trips and lectures, publish an annual Journal, and support local historical projects.'

'The Theosophical Society is a worldwide organisation founded in 1875. Its primary aim is universal brotherhood without distinction of race, creed, colour, gender or social background. It is based on the realisation that life in all its diverse forms, human and non-human, is indivisibly One ... Toward this end the Headquarters and its National Sections sponsor public lectures, seminars, events and study groups on theosophical and allied themes.'
