Open Lectures & Talks'The Society arranges a programme of ten lectures per year for its membership of local scientists, technologists and engineers. The speakers are drawn mainly from Universities and Research Councils, but also from Industry and Government. The Society attempts to arrange lectures on a wide range of subjects, covering as many disciplines as possible each year.'

Open Lectures & Talks'The Galilean Society aims to promote Science to the General Public. We do this by hosting Free Science talks, held every month, covering all aspects of Science. If you have an interest in science, come and join us in our quest to learn just a little bit more ... All lectures are at the level of "popular science" talks and last about an hour, followed by a brief Question Time where you can put your questions to the speaker. Talks are FREE (voluntary donations of £2 are appreciated to cover venue costs) and all members of the public are welcome to attend.'

Open Lectures & Talks'Regular meetings (notionally once per calendar month between October and March inclusive) will be held whence lectures/demonstrations will be presented. Accordingly, the Society will invite guest speakers in topics relevant to the aims of the Society. Lectures/demonstrations will, as far as is practical, be aimed at the widest possible spectrum of pre knowledge of the topic presented.'
