'Formed in 2000 by a small group of villagers anxious to see the heritage of the area preserved for ever. Our mandate has not wavered - to study record and stimulate interest in the heritage of our two villages and their surrounding areas. Our membership fluctuates between 40 to 50 members. The Society organises and manages an annual programme of twelve open meetings in which it invites knowledgeable speakers to talk on a wide variety of subjects of local, national and international interest.'

'We have a large number of people from around the country come and give us talks. Most of these are well known people who give a wide variety of talks on a diverse set of topics.'

'The Northamptonshire Natural History Society, founded 1876, welcomes all who are interested in the wonders of science and nature. We cater for all levels of interest, from those who are just starting to realise how amazing nature is, to those who have a life-long passion for the natural world. The Society has its own rooms and laboratory, located near the Derngate & Royal Theatres in the centre of Northampton. There are over 250 meetings, walks and visits per year, arranged by the different sections.'

'The Society exists to publish the records of the ancient county of Northamptonshire including the former Soke of Peterborough and to promote the study of the county's history ... All members receive: * The Society's Journal, Northamptonshire Past and Present, published annually; * Regular volumes, approximately one every two years; * Invitations to two lectures per year; * Access to the Society's facilities at Wootton Hall Park, including the extensive library of local and national history.'
