Listing Details
'Formed in 1972 by local people determined to preserve the area’s heritage in the face of the development of Britain’s biggest New Town. Housed at Stacey Hill Farm, Wolverton, the museum had developed into a local attraction by the 1980s. Renamed Milton Keynes Museum in 1989, the museum tells the story of Milton Keynes and the surrounding area through the 19th and 20th centuries, focusing on Victorian home life, farming, communication and transport. It is an award-winning community-run heritage site with a unique approach to volunteering.'
