Louth Museum
Listing Details
'The Louth Naturalists' Antiquarian and Literary Society (Ants & Nats for short) was founded by a group of young men in 1884, who met each week to discuss local and natural history. The Louth Ants & Nats is still a thriving society today. As well as operating Louth Museum, the society owns and controls other historic buildings in the town. Our present-day aims : * To promote interest in and research into the history, natural history, archaeology and literature of Louth; * To organise lectures and excursions connected to the local history and natural history of our area; * To provide a museum for Louth and the local area, which is open to the public and tells the story of our town and its people.'
