'Founded in 1927 ... We meet on the first Thursday and the third Friday of each month from September through to the end of June. Meetings start at 8 pm and we finish by 10 pm ... Members are encouraged to bring guests to our meetings ... We usually hold 20 meetings a year ... Meetings are a mixture of guest speakers, themed members events, and joint auctions with other societies.'

'Since its formation in 1954 the Surbiton and District Bird Watching Society has grown to become one of the foremost ornithological societies in the South East of England, located about 25 miles to the South West of London. The Society has grown in strength and reputation, providing its membership with a consistently wide range of activities.'  Membership offers 'monthly indoor meetings feature a guest speaker giving an illustrated talk'.
