'Gateshead Local History Society was formed in September 1964 by Gateshead Libraries and our membership has continued to grow each year. We meet at Gateshead Central Library on the first Thursday of each month from September to May (excluding January) ... We have eight meetings per year and our local history nights have a variety of speakers on both local and regional heritage.'
