VISIT the List of Flowers & Plants Groups which were advertising forthcoming live Lectures and Talks Online when their Records were reviewed.
Meetings ‘second Tuesday of every month at 7.30 pm ... The club was formed in 1979 by a group of friends intending to help one another to enhance their knowledge on the art of bonsai’.
‘Exists to promote the cultivation and preservation of clematis. In particular, we aim to encourage all gardeners to grow and enjoy clematis - with the emphasis being on enjoy ! The BCS has nearly 1000 members, ranging from experts to absolute beginners. Membership is open to anyone interested, whatever country they live in.’
‘The BIS has close links with specialist and geographical groups. The specialist groups focus their activities on particular branches of the iris family and the geographical groups have members with a wide range of interests. The groups typically have an annual programme of meetings and events which will include lectures, shows and garden visits.’
‘Founded in 1978 with the aim of bringing together all those interested in carnivorous plants, both beginners and experts. Membership is open to all individuals and institutions, both amateur and professional ... While the majority of animals feed directly upon plants "for tis their nature to”, there are plants which turn the tables and feed upon them.’
Monthly 'meetings are open to anyone interested in the cultivation of begonias ... Anyone interested in growing begonias will be made very welcome'.
'Regular monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month ... and include guest speakers from the chrysanthemum world or related topics such as soil analysis, show preparations and reviews, etc. as well as the month's work and how-to-do-it sessions.'
'The Maidstone Bonsai Society hold monthly meetings that you would be most welcome to attend. The club is keen to demystify and promote the art of bonsai. If you are just starting out, slightly interested or have a large collection of specimen bonsai you will have a great time at our meetings. We meet on the first Monday of each month, unless otherwise stated in the programme, at 19.30 hrs.'
Monthly talks, Wednesday evenings.
ALERT The Society does not seem to have an 'umbrella' Website. So I have referenced instead here a page of the Midland & West Section of the 'Society' where you should find Links to its other Sections and Groups.
'The Northern Section has local groups that hold meetings, usually monthly or bi monthly, they are especially helpful to new members and help and advice are freely given in all aspects of Primulas, growing and showing. Talks and slide shows by some of the more experienced members make these meetings popular and a good way to spend an evening in good company.' ALERT The Northern Section at Review only listed a North East Group, and so I have referenced their Meeting place in this Record.
'Officially known as the Rhondda Rose Society, we are the biggest of our kind in Wales. In an attempt to widen our audience and attract new members, we took the decision to rebrand the society online as the Rose Society of Wales ... Our events are held on the second Wednesday of every month from 19:15-21:30. Events are for members only, but we welcome anybody to come along and try it out for free.'
Occasional winter evening talks.
'The club meets on the third Tuesday each month at 20.00 to 22.00.'
'Meets on the second Tuesday of each month, 19.30 ... All with a friendly group of like minded people ranging from beginners to experts. Come along as a guest, just turn up. Join if you like it.'
'We meet at 8 pm every 2nd Wednesday of the month ... New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even "try us out" for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.'
