Camden

'The Camden History Society wants everyone to enjoy the history of the London Borough of Camden. Since 1970, we have worked voluntarily to research the social and architectural history of an area that stretches from Highgate to Holborn and Kilburn to King's Cross. We have discovered stories of growth, struggle, invention and inspiration, and can share that with you through our many local history publications and regular public events.'

'We are a voluntary organisation with over 1200 members. There are no paid staff, and the organisation is run by an elected Council who serve for 3 years and deal with different aspects of the Society’s activities. The Highgate Society’s reputation makes it the first port of call for anyone seeking to develop, conserve or interpret the quality and character of Highgate. It is a source of civic pride and people will know it for its independence of thought, challenging perspective and positive outlook. We will listen, advise, support and act on behalf of all residents across Highgate.'

We exist for all people from all backgrounds and celebrate diversity in all its forms ... Our mission is to surprise, delight and engage all people, irrespective of background and faith, in the history, identity and culture of Jews in Britain. Our exhibitions, events and learning programmes encourage a sense of discovery and aim to provoke questions, challenge prejudice, and encourage understanding.'

'We are residents of Highgate and neighbouring communities with a shared concern about climate change and are part of the global Transition Movement. We believe that positive practical action is urgently needed to deal with these challenges, and that by coming together as a community and contributing to the Transition Movement, we will have greater success.'
