'We have a reputation for offering often once-in-a-life-time opportunities to hear sublime but rarely performed operas; and internationally acclaimed singers, musicians and literary speakers are all attracted to our beautiful spa town.'

'Originally founded in 1922 with the grand title of The Buxton Archaeological, Local and Natural History Society. Despite the recent shortening of the title, the aims of the Society are unchanged and remain to engage in activities that explore and explain all aspects of the history of the market town of Buxton, the Peak District and its surrounding areas. Regular meetings are held to hear talks and presentations by members and other speakers with a knowledge and interest in the area ... Visitors are most welcome.'

'An active and progressive photography club offering a wide range of speakers, training and events.'

'Confidence comes with knowledge, knowledge leads to freedom and choice. If you have the knowledge you have the freedom and choice to take better images. The camera is only the instrument, without you, it is nothing ... Chapel Camera Club is located in Chapel-en-le-Frith and draws members from the High Peak area of Derbyshire and East Cheshire. We meet every Wednesday, September to May, for talks, competitions and practical sessions.'
