'Hosts wide and varied events, intending to build upon a history of collaboration between academic researchers, professionals and society. Events range from weekly "topic-specific seminars", through to an annual conference, with the key aim to improve the delivery of justice through the analysis of language. Our events are free and open to the public unless specified otherwise.'

LECTURES and TALKSRegular Programme

'The Birmingham & Midland Institute has been at the heart of Birmingham’s cultural life for almost 170 years, founded by Act of Parliament in 1854 for the "Diffusion and Advancement of Science, Literature and Art amongst all Classes of Persons resident in Birmingham and Midland Counties" ... The Institute has a thriving programme of cultural and educational activities, which includes a wide spectrum of arts and science lectures, exhibitions and concerts. These are open to members and non-members alike.'

'We aim to offer a much-needed space to exchange ideas and opinions and to debate a whole range of subjects. Salon meetings are not a series of pre-programmed lectures in which people sit passively and listen. The idea is for the audience to challenge speakers and be challenged themselves by different ideas. If you feel that there is a debate-shaped hole in your life, and you live in or around Birmingham, then come along.'

'A research centre which explores all aspects of the Brexit Referendum and life beyond the European Union. Our team of experts examine the impact Brexit could have on society, business and the economy. The team also regularly comment on issues surrounding British politics and the Government’s role worldwide.'
