Cumbria Past

'Cumbria Past is the website of The Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society. The Society was founded in 1866 with its charitable purpose being the advancement of education and culture in the fields of the arts, heritage and science in the ancient counties of Cumberland and Westmorland ... Members have the opportunity to benefit from lectures, guided walks, guided visits, occasional excursions and an annual dinner or lunch. The Society is welcomed into historic homes and buildings not normally open to the public.'
