'Formed in 1979 to act as the national body for mining history in the United Kingdom. There are now over 70 member organisations, including societies, museums, firms, etc. ... NAMHO holds two Council Meetings each year (at which representatives from all member organisations can attend) and an Annual General Meeting each spring. NAMHO also organises, through one of its member organisations, an annual Conference, usually in June or July.'
