'The Society usually holds around forty lectures and field meetings during the year. The sections of botany, geology, lichenology, mammals and ornithology all contribute to the programme. The lectures are held in the Hancock Museum on Friday evenings and the field meetings visit areas of interest in the North of England and southern Scotland.'
